Although I have dearly loved all the motorcycles I have owned during my fifteen years of riding, I had always wanted a Harley Fatboy. Now, living in New York, I had finally purchased my dream machine.

In the summer of 2007, I decided I had no choice but to combine my passion for motorcycles and for filmmaking. So, with the help of my producer-friend Laura, the two of us set out to explore and tape as many rallies as we could.

How it all began

   Being an independent filmmaker really only means that you just don’t have a budget.

So our first time out, I purchased a $400 pickup, rented a u-haul and filled them both with camera gear. Laura drove the truck while I rode the Fatboy.

    This year, however, we plan on doing it all with one vehicle:

The Harley Davidson Electra-glide Ultra Classic.  

Now, some may say it’s an old man’s bike, and yes, I hated selling my Fatboy (remember, budget). But just look at that seat! And all that storage for camera gear! That bike is ready to eat some miles. And it’s a good thing too, because we’re gonna feed her about 6500 of ‘em.

THE ROUTE

We start in New York City. (I)

Then to Laconia, New Hampshire with a rented Electra-Glide. (B)

Back to New York (I)

Head down to Florida to purchase an Ultra Classic. (D)

Then it’s a little road trip with an old college buddy and his bike down to the Keys. (E. F)

Back up to New York again before heading to the H.O.G. Rally in Maryland (G)

Put in some good mileage with a 1600 mile cruise to Sturgis, South Dakota (H)

Then,  Back home to NYC. (I)
